Become a Member

Our members are predominantly professionals in the Belgian finance industry whose activities include financial analysis, reporting and communication, comprising sell-side & buy-side equity analysts, fixed income analysts, strategists, corporate finance professionals, private bankers, private equity houses, etc.

Our governance model ensures that members have an influence on the decisions to made by the General Assembly.

Students who enrol for one of our courses automatically become members for one year.

  • You will be connected to our knowledge centre and, therefore, also have access to our large network of finance professionals.
  • We are member of a European and worldwide community through our partnership with EFFAS and ACIIA and actively work together. As a consequence, we are able to inform you about the latest trends in reporting and financial communication, such as IFRS, IASB, ECMI, XBRL, WICI, ESMA,…
  • You are invited to the annual ABAF Awards event, rewarding the company for Best Financial Communication.
  • You are invited to the EFFAS events and conferences at a reduced price, including the EFFAS Summer School and CESGA Conference.
  • You will have access to certified courses offered by EFFAS at a reduced price, including CESGA, CEFA, ESG Essentials and DiAM.

How to become a member?

Please send us an email to info@abaf-bvfa.be, adding personal and relevant professional data as well as a brief justification for your interest in becoming an ABAF/BVFA member.

The Board of Directors decides with full power on the admission of new members:

  • They must be introduced by two existing members.
  • They have to exercise the function of financial analyst or a function that obliges them to use techniques of financial analysis as described in our statutes article 2, alinea “a”: functions such as credit analyst, portfolio manager, corporate & investment banker, investor relations, financial journalist, asset manager, portfolio manager : this list being non-exhaustive.
  • The Board has the right to ask for a yearly membership fee (currently defined at 150 euro).
